Speech Therapy Services offered at JOURNEY THROUGH SPEECH

JTS offers a range of individualized, client-centered, speech therapy services that are neuro-affirming, child-led, evidence-based, and culturally sensitive. Services include: assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for various speech disorders, language disorders, and communication differences. Providing speech therapy for speech sound disorders (articulation, phonological delays, apraxia of speech), early child language development (receptive and expressive language delays, social pragmatic language differences, gestalt language processors) and implementing sensory techniques for regulation for more effective speech sessions for those who need sensory support. 

Journey Through Speech is a Private Pay (self-pay) practice, a Superbill (detailed medical receipt that you can submit to insurance for possible reimbursement of services) is available upon request. Payment is due day of services. 

$250-400 (based on the number of assessments and areas of concern)

Comprehensive speech and language evaluations in the areas of articulation (speech sound production) and language (receptive and expressive) using formal and informal assessment measures. Evaluations can and may include a language sample, informal observations conducted during child-led learning activities (to evaluate speech, language, and social pragmatic skills) in a functional capacity. Evaluations are performed by a licensed speech-language pathologist requiring 1.5-2 hours and consists of the following: formal or standardized assessments allowing for comparison of scores to similar-aged peers to determine if a speech/language disorder is present; informal assessments allowing for clinical observations during dynamic communication interactions; interviews conducted with Parent/Caregiver to obtain background information and relevant medical history; and informal sensory profile. Within 7 business days following the evaluation, the Parent/Caregiver will be provided with a complete detailed report including formal and informal assessment results as well as recommendations.  

$75-100 (30-45 minute sessions)

Therapy is based on the findings of the evaluation to address the area(s) of concern. In collaboration with the client and/or parent/caregiver, an individualized treatment plan will be developed to provide client-centered therapy focusing on the client's interests and specific needs through high-quality, evidenced based practices. Treatment session are typically 30-45 minutes in length and vary in frequency per week. 

$85 

A screener allows one to quickly assess whether a comprehensive evaluation is needed in the area of speech and/or language. Screenings typically require 30 minutes to complete and entail the following: Parent/Caregiver Interview; Speech-Language screen in the areas of articulation, receptive language and/or expressive language. The parent/caregiver will receive results immediately following the screening and will have the opportunity to discuss recommendations for next steps with the speech-language pathologist. If it is determined that further testing is needed the cost of the screening can be applied towards the cost of the evaluation.

Our team can provide in-person school contract services within Chemung and Steuben Counties and surrounding areas within driving distance, as well as providing services virtually to any district within the state of New York.
